Archero de la Cuchilla, reinado de Felipe III. San Lorenzo del Escorial, 1600
En ésta ocasión he pintado una antigua figura modelada por mi querido amigo Agustín (Augi) Rodriguez, que representa a un archero de Borgoña o de la cuchilla, Tropas de la Guardia Real. Éstas tropas estaban integradas por cien nobles flamencos (segun la nueva ordenanza del cuerpo aprobada por el Rey Felipe II) debiendo ser "de buena presencia, sanos, valientes y sin mancha). Los servicios de ésta guardia eran escoltar al Rey, pié a tierra, en el interior de palacio y a caballo en los desplazamientos de Su Majestad. Fué en época de Felipe II cuando se armó a los archeros con una lanza corta con una hoja larga y ancha en forma de cuchilla, llamada "ahuja", por lo que a partir de entonces fueron conocidos con el nombre de guardia de la cuchilla.He situado la figura en el interior del monasterio de San Lorenzo del Escorial en el reinado de Felipe III, por lo que las baldosas del suelo están colocadas haciendo el mismo dibujo espigado que en el suelo del monasterio.
In this occasion Ihave painted a old figure modeled by mi dear friend Agustín (Augi) Rodríguez, that represent an archero of the cuchilla or of Burgundy, troops of the Spanish Royal Guard. These troops were integrated by hundred flemish nobles (according to the new ordinance approved by the King Felipe II) must be "of good presence, healthy, brave and without spot". The services of this guard were escort the King, inside palace and in the displacements of His Majesty. In this epoch the archeros were armed with a short lance with a long and broad leaf in the shape of cleaver, call "ahuja", from then they were known by name of the guard of the cleaver.
I have placed the figure inside the monastery of San Lorenzo del Escorial in the reign of Felipe III, by what the tiles of the soil are placed doing the same ripe drawing that the soil of the monastery.

Les extrémes se touchent
En esta ocasión os enseño una viñeta original modelada por Antonio Zapatero y que he tenido el gusto de poder pintar. La viñeta representa a un veterano sargento de la Guardia Imperial, el cual está brindando con un niño que ha estado jugando a ser soldado (exactamente un tambor) y se ha hecho su chacó con papeles y cartones, se ha pintado una escarapela y la chapa frontal, saludando muy marcial al veterano. Espero que os gusten las figuras que están basadas en un antiguo grabado de Charlet (soldado y pintor contemporáneo de la época napoleónica).In this occasion I show you an vignete modeled by Antonio Zapatero, and that I have had the pleasure of paint it. La última figura que he pintado para mis amigos de Art Girona, se trata de un cazador-carabinero de las tropas revolucionarias francesas en 1791. La figura de 70 mm. consta de 13 piezas y está modelada por mi querido amigo, el maestro Antonio Zapatero. M. Vettius Valens, centurión primus pilum Legio VI Victrix. Rebelión de los astures, año 59
En esta ocasión os muestro mi versión de la magnífica figura modelada por el maestro Yuri Serebryacov para Pegaso models y que representa al centurión primus pilum de la Legio VI Victrix, M. Vettius Valens. Destinada en hispania y que reprimió la rebelión de los astures entre los años 55 y 60, donde fué muy condecorado por su valor.In this occasion I show you my version of the magnificent figure modeled by the master Yury Serebryacov for Pegaso Models and that it represents to the centurion primus pilum of the Legio VI Victrix, M.
